Transamerica Life Canada has just announced today, October 16, 2014, that they are being acquired by Wilton Re.

 

 

UPDATE – October 28, 2015 – Transamerica Life Canada/IVARI

Policyholders who are on Pre-authorized premium withdrawal will continue to see the Transamerica name  (Transam) on their bank statements until April 2016.   The IVARI name will starting showing on clients’ bank statements starting in April 2016.

If you are currently making a premium cheque to Ivari, please use the Ivari name only.  Ivari cannot accept cheques in the name of Ivari Life, Ivari Insurance etc…

UPDATE August 14, 2015 – Transamerica Life has just announced its new name.  It is Ivari.  And it will become official October 26, 2015.

 

UPDATE:  July 31, 2015. 

The sale of Transamerica Life to Wilton Re has passed regulatory approval and been finalized July 31, 2015.  Transamerica Life’s new name will be announced in a few weeks.

 

About Wilton Re

Wilton Re is owned by its management and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB).  CPPIB is a AAA rated investor with long term returns and sustainability of the CPP – Canada Pension Plan.  Which is one of the 10 largest retirement funds in the world.

They will be changing the name of Transamerica Life, once the sale passes regulatory approval.  The new name will not be announced until at least that time.  Transamerica/Wilton Re will provide all clients with notices of any changes as they happen

 

How is your policy affected.

 

Your current Transamerica policy will remain exactly the same.
All contact information will remain the same for now.  New email addresses for Transamerica/Wilton Re –  will be updated to reflect the new corporate name once the name has happened.

And of course, if  you currently have a Transamerica Life insurance policy with me, I will continue to be at your service, with all my contact information remaining the same.

Today, Transamerica announced that it is official.  The sale has passed regulatory approval, and Transamerica is now officially wholly owned by Wilton Re.

Rebranding of Transamerica will be taking placed over the next while.
