Organizing Your Life Insurance
Simplifying your life. Relaxing. Looking forward to your future. Worry free.
Knowing where you are right now, what you have, and why you have it will give you peace of mind. Isn’t it always so much easier when we know exactly how things are. And why we are doing something.
Your life insurance portfolio can be the same. Do you wonder what you have. Could you easily put your hands on your life insurance portfolio. Does it still make sense.
Things have probably changed quite a bit since you last evaluated your life insurance. And you probably have, and are going to give a lot of thought to how your life will be going forward.
In order to simplify, be happy, relaxed and look forward to your future, it is important that you be able to know, at a glance just what you have, and why you have it. And you will then easily be able to see what needs to change
At any time, you should be able to
put your hands on your life insurance policies
know how much life insurance you have, and
what each policy is for……
Here is the first step to getting organized:
- Get a colorful oganizer. One with color that sticks out. You want to easily be able to spot it. And one that makes you happy. Something like those used for your household bills. Even if you are putting it all in a file cabinet, a colorful organizer means you will see it at a glance. This will be where you put everything related to your life insurance.
- Find your policies. Gather them all up, and keep them in one place. Such as your new colorful organizer.
- Put everything related in one spot – such as that gorgeous organizer.
Here are some suggestions to put into your fabulous new organizer:
- Your life insurance, disability insurance, critical illness insurance policies.
- The presentation that includes why you need the insurance. This is important, as 10, 20, 30 years can go by, and you will want to remember why you have done something.
- A Policy Summary – of your insurance portfolio. This summary should include the important details, such as policy number, insurance company, effective date, amount of insurance, premium and the purpose of each particular policy.
- Any correspondence from your insurance companies, insurance broker.
- And finally, a photocopy of your birth certificate. When making a life insurance claim, one of the requirements is a copy of your birth certificate as proof of age. It makes claiming so much easier when it can easily be found with your insurance papers.
Now that everything is in one place, and so easy to find and spot, you will always be able to find at a glance what you are looking for. And will know, in the coming years that you are set.
Here’s to a relaxing worry free future.
