Manulife has just announced its acquisition of Standard Life in Canada. It is effective February 2, 2015.
As of February 2, 2015, All Standard Life employees will be considered Manulife.
The name going forward for all Standard Life insurance policies will be Manulife.
For Standard Life investment products, there will be a slow transition over the next while from being branded (named) Standard Life to Manulife.
For New Issue Policies
Manulife will start harmonizing insurance and investment products into their current product line up over the next 6 months to 2 years. That is for newly issued insurance and investment policies. Which means that over time, the current Standard Life product line up will be fully integrated into Manulife.
For Current Policyholders
Currently, the products and servicing will remain the same. Slowly Manulife will integrate services and will advise you, the client, as Manulife makes the changes. Your current representative will continue to service you too. All contact information will remain the same for the time being.
Any currently issued policies will remain the same. Your premiums, investment amounts, and terms of the policies will continue, as per your current terms. For investment products, within the next few months, additional deposits will go into the Manulife branding channel.. You should speak to your representative about how this affects you.
If you have any questions, it would be a pleasure to be of service.
